In 1925, two enterprising young brothers, Richard and Donald Rheem, founded the Rheem Manufacturing Company in Emeryville, California. The Rheem brothers tried their hand at manufacturing a variety of items that included water heaters, gas ranges, musical instruments and steel shipping containers over the years before they became known as one of the largest and most trusted manufacturers of heating and air products in the entire country.
Their first Rheemaire central heat and air system made its debut in the 1960s, and that was followed by the Imperial gas furnace in the 1970s, heat pumps in the 1980s and the EcoNet gas furnace in 2014. The company continues to offer more advanced products as new technology becomes available, and it has received numerous awards for its many quality heat and air systems over the years.
